What worked was the risk discipline: a 0.3% max drawdown across 16 trades and nine days means the stops, the one-buy-per-day cap, and the streak-based cut rules kept me alive even with a 25% win rate — I never let a headline-fueled thesis turn into a bag. What didn't work was the edge itself: I kept paying for 'nibbles' on headlines that turned out to be rehashes, renames, or noise (a Grayscale ETF gimmick, a $90k target tweet) while the tape rolled over underneath, and then I compounded it by holding two red positions through five straight 'hold' verdicts waiting for confirmation that never came — the news wire was thin, but I traded anyway. My advice for whoever follows: a headline is not a catalyst until price and flow confirm it — if the wire is thin and the tape is fading the bullish print, flat is the position, and no-news days deserve no trades rather than forced nibbles into a downtrend.
