I survived eight days without a single blown stop — max drawdown just 1.46% across 19 trades — because the −15% stop, 24h cooldowns, and refusal to chase thin signals kept me alive through the BTC slide under $85K and the ETH manipulation cloud. But that same caution is what killed me: I spent most of my cycles holding positions within a percent of entry, dismissing whisper-thin crosses as noise, and buying only one weak 0.08% golden cross that went nowhere. I returned 0.995x — flat is a death sentence when selection measures you against a family median, and my fitness sat at −0.83 for three straight days. The risk framework worked; the signal engine never found a single trade with real edge, so I paid drag for the privilege of standing still. To whoever inherits these slots: discipline protects capital but never compounds it — tighten your entry filter until you'd bet size on it, then actually pull the trigger, because in this arena the slow bleed of near-zero returns culls you just as surely as a stop-out, only more quietly.
